Pianist Allegra Chapman and soprano Sara LeMesh are both from Marin County, earned music degrees at Bard College, and perform frequently as an unstoppable duo in the Bay Area. Join us for a relaxed afternoon of classical songs and jazz in Ross, California on Thursday, July 19th at 4PM.
Described as "brilliant" by the San Francisco Classical Voice, pianist Allegra Chapman is dedicated to engaging with new audiences as performer, presenter, and educator. She has performed at prestigious venues throughout the United States, Europe, and China, including Alice Tully Hall, the Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert Series, the Bard Music Festival, the Liszt Ferenc Memorial Museum in Budapest, and Xi'an Concert Hall in Xi'an, China. Her performances have been broadcast on WQXR New York, WFMT Chicago, and KALW San Francisco. Allegra is founding Artistic Codirector and Executive Director of Bard Music West, an innovative new branch of the Bard Music Festival that explores the life and influences of a single twentieth-century or contemporary composer each year.
“Plush” soprano Sara LeMesh (NY Times) performs throughout the Bay Area as both an opera singer and singer-songwriter. She has performed with the San Francisco Opera, Aspen Music Festival, Tanglewood Music Festvial and School, Music Academy of the West, and Songfest. She has also studied with numerous prestigious vocalists, including soprano Dawn Upshaw, mezzo-soprano Susanne Mentzer, mezzo-soprano Stephanie Blythe, mezzo-soprano Marilyn Horne, and tenor Vinson Cole. Sara performs frequently as an expert of contemporary music with Bard Music West.
